Ommmm… what’s that? The sound of relaxation? We got you covered for your next getaway, and it doesn’t even require your passport.
It’s December and while we love Winter, we’re dreaming of warmer weather and relaxing days spent sipping cocktails… preferably in a cozy hammock.
The Dreamcatcher Guest House in Ocean Park, Puerto Rico is one of our favorite vegan-friendly getaways.
The amenities and local attractions are everything you could want in a vacation. Cultural sites? Check. Delicious vegan fare? Check. Beaches and island excursions? Check and check. Yoga? Check. Do we need to go on…
Location, Location, Location! Did we mention, Dreamcatcher is located in the most perfect spot - just fly directly into San Juan International Airport and take a quick 10 minute cab ride to the quiet gated neighborhood where relaxation, meditation and even salsa dancing await.
When you explore the grounds you’ll find luxurious and homey accommodations that feature two communal kitchens where guests can prepare food for themselves during their stay. And for those of you who like to be pampered, Dreamcatcher also offers a daily-changing vegan breakfast and brunch from 8am to 12pm.
Venture into Ocean Park to discover everything from a vibrant art scene, vintage shops, to delicious vegan eateries bursting with regional flavors and ingredients. Two of our local favorites include Berlingeri and Cocobana.
Tell me more, tell me more…

Dreamcatcher only has 9 rooms and 4 apartments on the property, which means a whole lotta peace and quiet! Plus, not only is quiet time encouraged but Dreamcatcher offers meditation sessions to guest during their stay.
Need your yoga fix?
Dreamcatcher offers two yoga classes every day. Sign up for beach yoga first thing in the morning and end your savasana with a dip in the ocean. If you’re a late riser, treat yourself to a 6pm practice in the guesthouse studio where mats are included, every day for guests.
Feeling adventurous?
Have one of the Dreamcatcher’s local guides take you exploring through the city. From off-the-beaten-path beaches to untouched caves and rainforest tours; with the groups being only 2-4 people, you’ll get a personal tour of the real Puerto Rico.
Are you a night owl?
Great, because Ocean Park comes alive at night! Venture to the town’s farmers market and watch as it transforms from fruit stands and local goods, to bodegas serving snacks and drinks to passerby’s. Each bodega plays traditional salsa music and dancing pours into the streets! And don’t worry if your salsa is a bit rusty… Dreamcatcher offers personal and group classes daily to stay on the beat!
If you’ve read this far and haven’t booked a ticket yet, what are you waiting for! High season starts this month (December) and runs through the end of April so if you’re looking for a deal on next years trip, try booking between June and November for the best deals.
Safe travels!
