Are you more of a last minute Lucy when it comes to planning? …We figured! And that’s why, in addition to our Halloween Guide from earlier this month, we’re also giving you a few last minute tips for you to pull off a fun ‘ween.

 

NO COSTUME? NO TIME? If you didn’t have time to order the perfect costume, think no further than your own closet and your nearest convenience store!

Here are a few of our fav go-to outfits to get your creative juices flowing:

 

1. Snapchat: Vomiting Rainbow Lens

What you will need: Try this super easy and GENIUS makeup tutorial for bringing our fav vomiting rainbow lens to life! This is seriously our top choice for last minute Halloween costumes that we predict will get all the laughs! Plus all you need is some basic Halloween face paint, makeup brushes and a screen to watch this killer video!

2. Wednesday Addams

What you will need: A white button down, black dress and braided pick-tails. For makeup, try white foundation, heavy black eye makeup and black lipstick.

3. Dazed and Confused Seniors

What you will need: A white long sleeve T-shirt (crop it, optional), jean cut offs, tube socks, and sneakers. Write SENIORS on the shirt with a permanent marker and you’re all set! Accessorize with a whistle and RBF.

4. Regina George

What you will need: A colorful bra (try purple), white tank top with two holes cut into the chest, a mini skirt, and all the brunettes out there will need a blond wig! Bonus points for carrying around a pink notebook with “Burn Book” written on the cover.

5. Frida Kahlo

What you will need: A killer braid up do, a big bright flower crown (fake flowers if you can!), a floral patterned or brightly colored shawl, and don’t forget to pencil in Frida’s signature unibrow.

6. Risky Business

What you will need: An oversized white button down, white tube socks, black wayfarer sunglasses.

 

NO PLANS? NO CLUE WHAT TO DO? Have no fear, we rounded up some of our favorite activities to do this Halloween around NYC. From haunted houses, to parties, to movie fests, you’ll definitely find something spooky to do this weekend!

1. Spooky Fest 3

Thursday, October 29th Williamsburg Cinemas is hosting Spooky Fest for the third year in a row! Video Mass Collective will be featuring spooky short horror films for one night only. Tickets available online.

2. The Haunted Hayride

After 7 years of success in LA, the haunted hayride has finally made its way to NYC! Located on Randall’s Island, this Halloween attraction is sure to scare the pants off right off of you. General admission is $35 this Wednesday through Saturday, be sure to buy your tickets asap.

3. Village Halloween Parade

Who could forget about the village parade?!? The parade runs straight up Sixth Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street starting at 7pm. Open to the public.

Bonus points for anyone who comes to by CHLOE. after to enjoy some of our delicious pumpkin treats!

4. Merchant’s House Museum

Take a spooky candlelit tour of one of NYC’s oldest landmarks. The house which belonged to the wealthy merchant family the Tredwells from 1832 to 1932 was host to many odd rituals. Purchase tickets and see the reenactment of Seabury Tredwell’s funeral for yourself.

5. Dia de Los Muertos @ the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Celebrate Halloween and the conclusion of Frida Khalo’s exhibition at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens! with the traditional Mexican holiday. Enjoy all the gardens have to offer, including larger than life skeletons, flowers and butterflies. Kids will love the mask making and face painting stations. Plus, artists in residence, The Villalobos Brothers will close out the fiestas at the Garden with performances on October 31st + November 1st. Regular admission; Adults ($25) + Children ($10).
