Catskills Weekend
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news… but it’s about to get real freakin’ cold outside. Before you start planning your winter ski trips, take one last Fall weekend trip out of the city and head to the Catskills. There are plenty of fun outdoorsy activities to do and great restaurants to try.
WHERE TO STAY:
When we’re itching to get out of the city we love to stay at The Graham and Co. hotel for a relaxing weekend away. Hop in your car and drive just a short two hours and arrive in Phoenicia, NY. If you want to leave your car behind, take a bus from Port Authority bus terminal. Buses leave 7 times a day and drop you right in the heart of town.
Rooms at The Graham and Co. vary in size and amenities to fit your needs. Heading out of town for a romantic weekend with bae? Try and snag a deluxe single room with private bath, kitchenette and direct grounds access. Going for an adventure with a group of friends? Reserve a deluxe double or bunk room.
If you’re looking for a more private get away, there are always tins of options on airbnb.com start planning and find the perfect spot for you and your friends!
NATURE CALLS:
There are tons of hikes to do in the Catskills. Up for a challenge? Try one of our favorites, Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain located right in Phoenicia. It’s a little less than 7 miles and will take you 4-5 hours, but its stunning views are well worth it!

MEET THE LOCALS:
So much of the charm of upstate New York is getting to know the town. If you aren’t too busy soaking up what nature has to offer, head into Phoenicia town and check out the Phoenicia Diner, a legendary culinary destination for visitors.
If you want a taste of the local farms, drive a short ways to Saugerties and have your pick of the freshest produce at the Saugerties Farmer’s Market, open every weekend through Halloween.
Spend the day in Woodstock perusing flea markets and come home with a one of a kind antique. If you’re feeling quirky check out Candlestock for unique and crazy candle designs. They have everything from flower and skull shapes to some really out of the box candles!
Get to know the dining scene in Woodstock, with restaurants like Oriole 9 and Bear Cafe, that serve vegan friendly options!
ARE WE THERE YET?!:
On your way home, soak in the beautiful views as you pass through the Hudson Valley. If you can swing it, factor in some time to check out Storm King Sculpture Park. Storm King is known as one of the finest sculpture parks in the world and showcases over a hundred works by some of the greatest artists of our time. If you find yourself in the area, it’s worth the visit!
